Ownership

All photography, film, audio and graphics appearing on thebeworld.com and on the official accounts of BE. are produced by BE. Studio, except where otherwise credited. Copyright is retained by BE. This includes product photography, Stone Origin Record artwork and Geological Codex illustration.

The material is photographed from the objects themselves. None of it is AI-generated and none of it is licensed from a stock library. What appears in an image is the stone that was in front of the camera.

Permitted Use — Editorial

Editorial use is permitted without prior application. This covers news reporting, review, commentary and academic citation.

Four conditions apply:

  1. BE. is credited.
  2. A clickable link to thebeworld.com accompanies the image.
  3. Where a file carries an Archive ID, it is not removed or altered.
  4. The use does not imply that BE. endorses the publication or its contents.

Restricted Use

The following are not permitted:

  • Commercial use of any kind, including advertising, packaging, merchandise and paid social placement
  • Resale, redistribution, or inclusion in a stock library
  • Training, fine-tuning or dataset construction for AI or machine-learning models (see section 04)
  • Use by competing or comparable jewellery brands
  • Derivative work presented as originating elsewhere

Requests falling outside permitted editorial use should be sent to the address in section 06.

AI and Machine Learning

BE. draws a line between two different uses of its material by AI systems.

Retrieval and citation — permitted

AI search systems may read, summarise and quote from this site in order to answer a question, provided the source is named and linked. BE. treats this as editorial use.

Training and fine-tuning — not permitted

No material published by BE. may be used to train or fine-tune generative models, or to build datasets for that purpose.

This reservation is declared in four places, each of which points to the terms set out on this page:

  • the Content-Signal directive in robots.txt — search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=no
  • the per-agent rules in robots.txt, which admit retrieval crawlers and refuse training crawlers
  • the schema.org ImageObject licence declaration carried by every page that publishes BE. imagery, which names this page in its license and acquireLicensePage fields
  • the XMP rights fields written into the master files BE. distributes directly, including press kits and media packs

Archive ID Verification

Each item of BE. material carries an Archive ID in the studio record, in the following format:

The ID records which stone, which shoot and which release a file belongs to. Files that BE. distributes directly carry the ID in their metadata. The ID is not printed on the image, and the image itself is unmarked.

Anyone holding a BE. image may quote its Archive ID, or the address of the image on thebeworld.com, to confirm the source and the licence status against the studio record.

Effective Date and Revision

These terms apply to all material published by BE. from January 2026 onward.
