Materials and construction
Natural smoky quartz spheres, selected for carbon-toned saturation depth and host translucency. Hand-strung to order with a stainless steel wire core, finished with a one-hand magnetic clasp. Single-mineral strand — no mixed stone types. Construction upgraded in the second half of 2026: current lots are strung on steel wire with a magnetic clasp; lots shipped before this change used elastic cord.

Studio notes
Smoky quartz is macrocrystalline SiO₂ in which trace aluminium can replace silicon, and natural radiation forms colour centres around that substitution. The brown smoke is a lattice condition, not pigment. The quartz remains quartz, but its way of absorbing light has changed.
This Signature lot was selected for tonal depth with host translucency: smoke that reads as volume rather than surface darkness, consistent bead-to-bead tone, and no grey filler. The standard is brown depth that still lets light pass. Each bead needed gravity without opacity.
